How Can You Connect A Laptop To The Web Using An Aircard?

I’ve heard you can buy an aircard and get some kind of pay as you go or monthly Internet service via laptop while traveling in Thailand. Does anyone know about this?

    Hi, first of all, this is a cool site. Great info.
    Now, to my problem…
    I bought a Qtek 7070 from ebay a few weeks ago with the expectation of connecting to the internet and converting an applicatiion I wrote for the PPC to the smartphone, the problem is every time I try to connect to the internet I either get the error “Unable to connect” or “Unable to connect. Please verify that airplane mode is off and you have network coverage, then try again”
    I was given the following settings from Vodafone

    INTERNET
    Setting up the Data Connection
    1. On the handset, press the Start button. Scroll down to Settings and press the joystick button.
    2. Scroll down to More and press the joystick button.
    3. Scroll down to Data Connections and press the joystick button.
    4. Press the Menu button, scroll to Edit Connections and press the joystick button.
    5. Scroll down to GPRS Connections and press the joystick button.
    6. Press the Menu button, scroll to Add and press the joystick button.
    7. In the Description field, enter VF AU Internet
    8. Scroll down to Connects to and press the joystick button.
    9. Scroll down to The Internet and press Done.
    10. Scroll down to Access point and enter vfinternet.au
    11. Scroll down to User name and leave this field blank.
    12. Scroll down to Password and leave this field blank.
    13. Scroll down to Primary DNS and leave this field blank.
    14. Scroll down to Secondary DNS and leave this field blank.
    15. Scroll down to IP address and leave this field blank.
    16. Press Done 3 times to return to the Data Connections menu.
    17. Scroll down to Internet connection and press the joystick button.
    18. Scroll down to VF AU Internet and press Done.
    19. Press Done twice and press the Home button to return to the main screen.
    The device is now configured for Internet and ready for use
