I Need To Work From My Laptop While At School And Will Need Access To The Internet-help With Aircard Options?
I am looking for the best options. I don’t know much about them, but I want something that won’t be too expensive. I’ll be doing this about 3 days a week-do the service providers charge a flat fee or for the amount of time and/or data transmitted?
Thanks!
Where I live there are no phone lines so I use an “aircard” for my connection to the Internet from home on my desktop. It was either this or a satellite hookup service. For me here in Northern California the cost difference between the card and a satellite hookup was only the cost of the equipment, I got my “aircard” for $50 with a $50 rebate and the service costs me $59.99 per month for unlimited use, one penny less than the satellite service and the “aircard” has given me pretty decent service through Verizon. The “aircard” just plugs into a USB port, it is great, at least for me. Good Luck.
Talk to your local cell phone provider. They make a card that slides in the pcmcia slot of a laptop. It lets a laptop connect to the net using cell phone technology. Be prepared for a $60/month bill that goes with it.
