Networking A Laptop With An Aircard To My Desktop?

I have a Dell desktop at home that runs Windows XP. I have a Dell laptop that also runs XP. I have an air card for the laptop. I want to network my laptop with my desktop. Is there an easy way to accomplish this? What else may I need to do this?

You could use a cross over cable between the two.
You could use two Bluetooth dongles,
